FOUNDRY TECHNOLOGY COURSE ON-LINE

"On-Line" in this context means "the project is in progress." The PMFI, QCPU, and TESDA have met and agreed to agree in setting up a formal Foundry Technology Course to be administered by the QCPU and supported by the PMFI in providing the venues and the equipment to serve the la-boratory needs of the students. Hopefully, this shall be until laboratory facilities have been acquired for the use of the courses.

The suggested curriculum has been endorsed by PMFI to the QCPU and TESDA to serve as the starting point in designing the technology courses. The possibility of of-fering short-term special courses within the basic curriculum will be explored.

The curriculum is designed as a ladder type curriculum that would allow the accredita-tion of credits earned in the technology course towards engineering degrees. This would necessitate the cooperation of engi-neering schools or universities which should be taken up later.

The "ball" is now in the court of the TESDA who is expected to rule on the use of the proposed curriculum.

ELECTRIC POWER SERVICES

The MERALCO electric power service to the PMFI Building has been "cut" by MERALCO for non-payment of the electric bill for the past two months. Because of the use of the building by QCPU, the usual electric bill has ballooned to about ten times of the old bills. Of course, it is expected that QCPU pays for (or at least share proportionately) the electric bill. A reliable source informs that the check has been prepared by the Office of Sec. Salvador Enriquez and already forwarded to the Office of Dr. Ofelia Carague. It seems that now it has turned into the "Mona Lisa" syndrome. I repeat, this is what I heard.
